Ball del Vermut
—
12/15 h
Centro Aragonés de Barcelona. Joaquín Costa, 68.
—
Casa Mariol recovers a classic from the town feasts, the Ball del Vermut.
—
Very few people continue to pay hommage to Vermouth with a matinée dancing session. In the hometown of the Mariol family, Batea, the aperitive is sipped to the rhythm of pasodoble and folk music. Casa Mariol creates Vermouth from its origin as a winemaker and brings to Barcelona a new form of consuming its locally made artisanal Vermouth. Orchestra, olives, rythm and vermouth from the Casa are the ingredients of this nostalgic proposal by the Terra Alta winemakers.

Off Mercat will tackle the whole range of products that constitute the Mediterranean diet: fresh vegetables and fruits, preserves, drinks, cured meats, dairy products, etc. both national and from other regions of the Mediterranean. French artist Caroline Champion will sweeten up the Galeria Alegría.

Caroline Champion presents a conference-performance where she will draw, in a rather spectacular form, the relationship between art, design and food. Starting from a recipe for brioche, over a thousand years old, she will invite us to consider the relationships between forms and symbols, between taste and images, between kitchen and culture. Caroline Champion is a "flavours explorer", who associates art with culinary practice and research. A philisopher by trade, she published "Hors d'œuvre. Essai sur les relations entre arts et cuisine" in 2010. As a chef, she works with the likes of Alain Ducasse. As an artist, she creates performances and installations in public spaces and in contemporary art venues (104, Grand Palais, Carré d'Art de Nîmes, galerie Elaine Levy Project à Bruxelles, etc.)
